Job Description

A contract opportunity has arisen for a Commissioning Engineer to support the delivery of clean water projects across operational treatment sites. This is a hands-on site-based role focused on the commissioning of clean water process systems including pumps, control panels, pipework and associated MEICA assets.

You will play a key role during the commissioning phase, ensuring plant and equipment are tested, integrated and certified for safe operational use. The role requires a technically strong engineer who understands potable water processes, site integration and commissioning protocols.

What’s in it for you?

A long-term contract working on a major framework programme offering project continuity and strong day rates. You'll be joining an established delivery team, working on essential infrastructure upgrades with an organisation that has a strong pipeline of secured projects.

Responsibilities

You will deliver on-site commissioning activities, ensuring systems are tested and handed over in line with quality, safety and client requirements. Responsibilities include planning and executing commissioning procedures, completing I/O checks and FAT/SAT testing, reviewing installation quality, and resolving integration issues. You will manage commissioning records, support operational readiness, and interface with delivery teams and the client. You will champion hygiene compliance and follow clean water commissioning protocols at all times.

Requirements

You must have experience as a Commissioning Engineer within the clean water or utilities sector, with strong MEICA knowledge and ideally electrical bias. Experience with clean water treatment processes, motors, MCCs, PLC-controlled systems and pump commissioning is essential. You must hold EUSR Water Hygiene certification and a relevant CSCS/ECS card. A SMSTS or a SSSTS as a minimum and an engineering qualification (ONC/HNC/HND or equivalent) are beneficial. A proactive attitude and ability to lead commissioning activities on site are key.
