We are working with one of our key clients to secure an experienced Windows Migration Engineer to lead a major server migration project. This contract offers £500 per day, sits outside IR35, and will run for an initial 6 months, with strong potential for extension as the project progresses.

The successful consultant will take full ownership of a large-scale Windows Server migration programme. The scope includes upgrading servers currently running Windows Servers, and addressing a small number of additional legacy systems.

This role requires a proven subject matter expert in Windows Server migrations who is comfortable operating across multiple environments that include a complex mix of both legacy and modern business applications. The consultant will take the lead on preparation, server builds, testing, and technical validation. Working alongside the client’s internal engineers, the consultant will perform in-depth business and technical testing across Windows Servers and platforms.

In addition to significant experience in Windows Server upgrades and large-scale migrations, strong expertise in VMware environments is essential. The role requires in-depth knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, Windows Services management, and proficiency with PowerShell scripting for automation and configuration tasks. A strong understanding of backup, restore, disaster recovery processes, and patching best practices is also required.
