A nation-wide rail contractor has a great opportunity for a Temporary Works Co-ordinator to join a large project consisting of major steel refurbishments within the rail industry.

The business operates within core markets such as Structural engineering, Civil engineering, preparations & coatings, and Access.

Job Description:

You will be taking the lead on the Access side of the project, particularly co-ordinating scaffolding works. Day to day you will:

  • Identify Temporary Works Required for the site and record on the TW schedule.
  • Identify Hazards associated with the works.
  • Ensure that the design Brief for temporary works is developed and finalised.
  • Support the CRE(s) and design manager in coordinating design production, compliance, and approval, where necessary.
  • Ensure that all identified hazards have been eliminated in the temporary works design.
  • Check that materials used match the details/drawings and specifications.
  • Ensure that the site location and temporary works installation are in accordance with the design.
  • Undertake inspections and issue all required temporary Works Permits (e.g. permit to load, monitor, strike and dismantle).
  • Ensure that any discrepancies/modifications are corrected or approved immediately, or the works and their use stopped until this is done.
  • In undertaking these duties, the TWC will thoroughly inspect the site at least weekly to verify the condition, presence and correct use of the temporary works and the accuracy and completeness of the temporary works Schedule.

Ideal Candidate:

As Temporary Works Co-ordinator, you will ideally come from a heavy scaffolding background within the rail industry.

  • HND/HNC/Bsc in relevant field essential
  • CITB (TWCTC) qualification
  • Proven track record of working within Rail

Package:

£50,000 + £60,000 per annum
