The Company
This is an opportunity to work for a successful train operating company that operates one of the busiest networks in the country and focuses on providing a reliable train service for their passengers. This company has recently invested in a full fleet of modern trains with increased seats to provide more pleasant and comfortable journeys for commuters to ensure significantly improved customer experience.
THE ROLE
As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of reliability growth initiatives and business led development engineering. Key responsibilities shall see you provide technical leadership & system knowledge, in particular performance issues of emerging technical trends, reliability problems and safety risks. The Systems Engineer will support the Technical Service Engineer and their understanding of systems and report to the Technical Development Manager to help develop a business case and engineering change documentations and will also include working closely with the Services Support Manager to maintain key documentation such as VMI, VMO, ILOC, FFG, TOM, TIM and engineering specifications, drawings and vehicle configurations. Leading from the from the front you shall be leading technical investigations alongside the Fleet Technical Officer and become the lead ROSCO technical liaison for the systems being worked on.
the ideal candidate
The ideal experience & background for the Systems Engineer position will be from the rolling stock sector in a similar role where you have strong knowledge of reliability growth models technical knowledge of rolling stock systems and operations, software diagnostic tools and railway group standards, alongside the Network Rail operational rule book.
THE REQUIREMENTS
A proven background in safety critical rolling stock maintenance and technical investigations and hold a HND / HNC Engineering qualification and a full driver licence to be able to attend on site call out’s
