Are you are skilled fitter / mechanical engineer looking for a hands-on opportunity with long term progression and stability?

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established engineering team in Manchester, offering long-term stability, investment in training, and the chance to apply your expertise maintaining heavy vehicles and industrial equipment.

What will I be doing?

As a Skilled Fitter, you will be working on heavy vehicles, supporting regular maintenance activities as part of a specialist team. You will be using a variety of specialist tools and equipment and will be someone that enjoys hands-on work. Our client is open to any previous engineering background, providing you are practical and solutions driven with a passion for hands on engineering work.

You will be working on a rotating shift pattern, of earlies and lates. The depot operates 24/7, 365 days a year. Candidates therefore must be flexible on working hours and able to commit to their rosters 4-6 weeks in advance. Weekend work may arise – this is paid at an enhanced rate and Sundays are optional.

Additional Process Requirements

  • Must complete a criminal convictions questionnaire as part of the application process
  • Be able to pass a basic DBS
  • Be able to pass a Drugs & Alcohol test
  • Be able to pass a full rail medical – this will include checks on eyesight, hearing, mobility, blood pressure and general health
  • Provide your Right to Work documents before deployment
