The role

A sterling opportunity for a Site Manager to join a team that is excelling in the rail industry now and has a huge amount of work in the NR Eastern region. With the length of the contract there is longevity and security with this role and the client wants to invest in progressing the correct candidate to the next level and further!

You will be working on enhancement, geotechnical works, and renewals. They still have several years left on this specific project with a huge potential of a further 2 years on the same project due to further investment and framework restructuring. The role will require the candidate to flexible as nights, weekends and weekdays will be part of a standard working week, however any over time that is done will be paid generously.

You will work in partnership with the Site Engineers, and they will provide the information on technical work package plans, design, and the programme scope. Ensuring the sites are safe and all work is carried out according to design and to competition will be an integral part of this role. You will liaise with internal teams, stakeholders, and other contractors on a regular basis.

You will report into a Project Manager who will be in charge of multiple sites so you must be able to take charge and work on your own initiative.  Knowledge of the rail sector is paramount and completing jobs within budget and to deadline will be a huge part of this role. ITP’s and quality checks must be completed to ensure the work completed meets both internal and external standards.

They also invest heavily in the future of the business, whether it is on professional qualifications (for example Chartership) as well as investing into top of the range machinery to ensure that jobs are completed to the highest standard which will ensure the winning of more contracts it the future. Many of the company directors have worked their way up through recognition and following a clearly mapped career path.

Renumeration:

Basic salary is subject to experience and is accompanied with generous holiday entitlement. They will also upkeep funding for any relevant required tickets and qualification and a path that can lead to a long-term career. Car allowance or company vehicle and pension is also included in the package.

Overtime is paid at a substantial rate also. A working week will be 40-45 hours a week as standard.

About you:


A Site Manager who has rail experience as a Site Manager with an established rail contractor who can prove any jobs they have worked on in the past. A qualification in Civils in not necessary but is desired. You must be flexible in the hours you can work and need a good understanding of site paperwork and can produce them from the start. These include WPP’s task briefs and method statements and task briefs.

You will also require a full and clean UK driving license.
