The Opportunity
A Tier 1 infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of a major highways project in the South West.
The role is site-based, delivery-focused and suited to a commercially strong SQS who is comfortable operating in live environments and managing subcontract packages independently.
Due to the nature of the project, some details will be discussed confidentially by phone.
Role Overview
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will support early-stage and enabling works, working closely with site and operational teams to manage commercial delivery, cost control and change management under NEC forms of contract.
This role requires a practical, hands-on QS with strong NEC experience and a background working for Tier 1 contractors on highways or major civils schemes.
Key Responsibilities

Commercial management of subcontract packages

Contract administration under NEC (Option C / B)

Change management and compensation events

Cost forecasting and client-facing reporting

Take-offs from drawings and technical information

Supporting early-stage works and transition into construction

Close collaboration with site and engineering teams
Requirements
Essential:
-
Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on highways or major infrastructure projects

Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts

Experience managing subcontractors and commercial risk

Site-based delivery experience

Confident producing forecasts and managing change

Able to work autonomously and take ownership
