Senior Quantity Surveyor – Doncaster – Rail - £67,000 + Package

Are you a seasoned Senior Quantity Surveyor looking for an exciting opportunity in the rail contracting environment? Look no further!

We are currently seeking a proactive and detail-oriented professional to join an expanding team, working on high volume works packages.

Key Responsibilities:

As a pivotal member of the team, your role will encompass:

  • Skilful production of monthly accounting, costing, contract, management, and financial information for inclusion in the monthly accounts package.
  • Briefing the Project Manager on the bill of quantities, specifications, and contractual implications of ongoing and new projects.
  • Liaison with Project Managers to track ongoing costs, project positions, and variations in contracts.
  • Vigilant monitoring of costs against tender/contract specifications, with immediate notification to the Commercial Manager of any major problem areas.
  • Engaging liaison with clients, providing and receiving costing information for ongoing contracts. Notifying clients of any variations and obtaining relevant authorisation.
  • Ensuring the Company’s contractual obligations related to cost control are met, using the appropriate standards and methods.
  • Assisting the Commercial Manager in preparing tender enquiries, responses, and determining the Company’s charging structures.
  • Identifying and recommending areas for improvement to the relevant Manager or General Manager.

Job Requirements:

  • To be a successful candidate, you should possess:
  • Extensive experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in a rail contracting environment.
  • Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying.
  • Excellent knowledge of construction contracts, such as NEC, and procurement processes.
  • Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Previous experience with COINs would be advantageous.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach, managing fluctuating workloads with ease.
  • Experience in meeting tight deadlines and working off your initiative.
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is essential.
