Rolling Stock Fitter – Locomotive Experience

Are you a contractor with locomotive expertise?

 Join a busy depot on a 3-month contract with potential for extension, putting your mechanical and electrical skills to work on one of the UK’s most well-known rolling stock brands in East Anglia.

In this role, previous experience working on locomotive maintenance is essential as you’ll be part of a skilled maintenance team keeping locomotives running reliably and safely. You’ll work on a 3-week rotation shift pattern:

Earlies: Mon–Fri, 06:00–14:00

Lates: Mon–Fri, 14:00–22:00

Nights: Mon–Fri, 22:00–06:00

Saturday overtime available when on the Early shift (06:00–14:00)

Your responsibilities will include:

Adhering to Health & Safety, local safety policies, and technical standards

Applying Freightliner engineering standards and procedures in all work

Maintaining, servicing, fault-finding, and repairing locomotives per approved maintenance plans

Completing all examination and repair documentation to company standards

Keeping work areas clean and safe to a high standard of housekeeping

Commitment to safe working practices

Apprentice trained or time served in mechanical/electrical maintenance

Experience with electrical and/or mechanical systems

Rolling stock experience (advantageous)

Motivated self-starter, able to work as part of a versatile team

Proven background in a railway maintenance depot or similar engineering environment
