The investment by the UK government into the rail network continues to increase and opportunities with our client come with that investment. The role

A pivotal role within the company which will see you reporting into the Regional Operations Manager and managing a team of Engineers.

You will be challenged with looking at buildability and correcting any design issues. Client interaction will be a regular occurrence, and this will help direct the project as it progresses. You will be overseeing and signing off on WPP’s, ITP’s, Task Briefs, and other site paperwork.

The project is worth millions of pounds and will see you heavily involved with bridges and structures across the central region (Midlands). Travel to site will be required 2 or 3 times a week.

One of the country’s largest Tier 1 contractors in the Rail Industry is experiencing a period of huge growth after being awarded several key contracts in the UK. They also have an excellent pipeline of future projects, and as such they are growing their team. This means there is a superb opportunity to join a national business at an extremely exciting time. They have offices across the UK and have excelled in the last year throughout the pandemic with a healthy cashflow and pipeline of works. The reason for the vacancy is due to their success in winning bids nationwide with this role being based in the Birmingham area but requiring travel.

They also invest heavily in the future of the business, whether it is on professional qualifications (for example Chartership) as well as investing into top of the range machinery to ensure that jobs are completed to the highest standard which will ensure the winning of more contracts it the future. Many of the company directors have worked their way up through recognition and following a clearly mapped career path.

Renumeration:

Basic salary is subject to experience and is accompanied with generous holiday entitlement. They will also upkeep funding for any relevant required tickets and qualification and a path that can lead to a long-term career. Car allowance or company vehicle and pension is also included in the package.

Overtime is paid at a substantial rate also. A working week will be 40-45 hours a week as standard.

About you:


Do you have a technical background working with railway structures such as bridges and stations? We require a Scheme Project Manager who has rail experience as a with an established rail contractor who can prove jobs they have worked on in the past. A qualification in civil engineering such as an HNC, HND or Degree is required.

You will also require a full and clean UK driving license.
