Project Manager
Location: Calvert
£500-£550 per day INSIDE IR35 PAYE or PAYE Umbrella
About the Role
Are you a experienced Project Manager with experience in utilities, heavy civils, or major infrastructure works? We’re recruiting on behalf of a Tier 1 client delivering a critical utility diversion project in Calvert. This is a high-profile role within a national framework, providing the opportunity to contribute to one of the UK’s largest infrastructure schemes.
You’ll play a key role in leading project delivery—coordinating site activities, managing stakeholders, and driving performance to meet the client’s strict technical and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of the delivery of utility diversion packages from mobilisation to completion
- Lead day-to-day site coordination, ensuring work is delivered safely, to specification, and within budget
- Manage subcontractors and direct labour, driving performance and maintaining productivity
- Chair daily briefings, programme reviews, and LEAN meetings to ensure operational efficiency
- Coordinate design input and ensure technical compliance across all disciplines
- Implement Temporary Works procedures and value engineering initiatives
- Identify and resolve risks, issues, and changes to scope proactively
- Liaise with the client representatives, utility providers, and third-party stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery
- Ensure rigorous compliance with CDM regulations, H&S legislation, and HS2 assurance processes
- Oversee material forecasting, procurement, and reconciliation
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience managing utility diversion or civil engineering projects, ideally on major infrastructure.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to coordinate multiple workstreams
- Familiarity with working under NEC contracts and managing cost forecasting
- Proactive, solutions-oriented approach with a strong focus on quality, safety, and programme
- Experience with temporary works coordination or management desirable
