Job Title: Mechanical Fitter – Rolling Stock

The Company

Our client is a World-Famous specialist in the modification, overhaul and servicing of Rolling Stock and look after a variety of well-known clients throughout the country. Employing well over 150 people in the UK they are winning work like there’s no tomorrow and have contracts to carry out long term servicing and exam work as well as a whole host of mods. The time has come to welcome some additional, experienced personnel to this traditional company to enable them to fulfil their contracts.

Your Role

As a Mechanical Fitter you will be responsible for ensuring that the Rolling Stock is safe to run by carrying out the final checks on doors, brakes underframe and other key mechanical components along with fuel point and CET tank checks before sending the fleet to collect its passengers by ensuring that every aspect of the fleet is safe and ready to leave the depot. This company are responsible for ensuring that their client receive the highest DfT score possible for performance and reliability so it’s not just one train you are responsible for.

You

You will come from a Rolling Stock background with plenty of knowledge and experience as a mechanical fitter. You will be a self-starter who needs little or no supervision and most of all you will enjoy working on these classic trains and looking for night shift work. You will be expected to demonstrate that you have engineering qualification to a mechanical discipline (Leve 3 / Level 2 Engineering Qualification)

Rate of Pay & Hours

As the latest addition to this expanding organisation you will receive an hourly rate of £18 per hour on a night shifts of 4 on 4 off and will be given the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge.
