Maintenance Electrician – Railway Depot Based

Ganymede Solutions is seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join an award-winning train operating company with services between East London and Essex. Our client is well recognised as one of the UK’s most punctual operators, with a dedication to provide an exceptional passenger service to its customers.
The Role
As the Maintenance Electrician, you will be tasked with performing electrical maintenance and repairs on plant across the client’s railway depots in East London and Essex. This will include coverage on the train operator route, carrying out minor new installation at these locations.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Routine Maintenance of depot plant and equipment in East London and Essex, this will include diagnosing and fault finding.
- Carrying out minor new installations on plant and equipment across railway depots in East London and Essex
- Support contractors carrying out maintenance, and repairs and installation across the depots.
- Assist with necessary equipment and materials purchasing for maintenance works across the depots.
- Complete maintenance and repair documents for plant and equipment across the depots
About You

You will be responsible for planning and organising your weekly tasks and activities to fall in line with required time frames. You will also need to have an adaptable as you will be working independently or as part of a team. You will also be required to have effective communication skills both verbally and written as you will be recording brief reports on maintenance tasks.
Required Qualifications and Training
- Recognised C&G, NVQ qualifications
- BS7671 18th Edition City & Guilds qualification.
- C&G 2391 Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations or C&G 2394 Initial Verification and C&G 2395 Periodic Inspection and Testing Existing Installations or equivalent.
- Understanding of COSHH, Confined Spaces, Hot Work, High Voltage regulations etc
- Fire Safety (Primary Module) or equivalent.
- Local Safety Induction
- Working at Heights
- Certified Competent in Personal Track Safety
- Manual Handling
- Ladder & Scaffold Trained
- Certified Competent to latest IEE Wiring Regulations
- UK Driving License
Shift Hours
Monday to Friday: 0800am – 1600pm
This will also include 1 week on-call duties therefore full flexibility is required.
Salary and Benefits
£42,000 p.a.
Final salary pension
33-day holiday including bank holidays
