Fleet Engineer – Rolling Stock/Railway

Based in South-East London/Kent

£50,000 Basic Salary +Company Benefits

Ganymede Solutions are partnering with a well-recognised UK train operating company to hire a number of Fleet Engineers into their engineering team, based in the South East London/Kent region. Our client is looking to hire a “go getter” calibre Fleet Engineer who wants to challenge themselves by developing their skills & expertise further in the rolling stock/railway sector.

The Role:

The Fleet Engineer role itself is to develop cost effective technical solutions as well as process improvements to solve problems and improve the performance of Rolling Stock and the wider business.

As a Fleet Engineer, you will lead on component or system modifications, improvements in specifications, maintenance plan improvements, whilst also recommending maintenance or operational process improvements where applicable.

The Fleet Engineer will support reliability growth through development of initiatives with train leasing companies and external suppliers.

For this role, communication is key as a large part of reliability growth can be derived from continued improvements to communication and management process.

This is a varied and technical role which has a degree of autonomy and allows the Engineers to explore the improvements that are possible, working with materials and trailing engineering solutions.

The Company:

The company serves the London, Kent, and East Sussex areas, running 165 stations and completing over 1,700 journeys each day.

As a result of this, they have a large fleet of trains – 399 to be precise so it is safe to say you will always be busy and have a new challenge to overcome.

This rail company has on offer the following for permanent staff:

  • £50,000 basic salary
  • Free travel on multiple network which extends to family after 6 months of service.
  • 75% off European travel after 12 months, which also extend to family members.
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Life assurance
