Works / Site Manager – Rail

Hampshire or Kent

Up to £50,000 per annum + company van

The Company

This Principal Contractor to the Rail Sector continues to grow and expand as they become the trusted and go to contractor for clients such as Network Rail. As a trusted partner they partner their clients on wide variety of Rail projects. The Role

This new division within the organisation are seeking an experienced Rail Works Manager to help develop the Fencing team further.  You will be working closely with the Senior Project Manager to successfully deliver Rail Fencing projects that meet with the client expectations.

As a confident communicator, you'll proactively liaise with clients and internal colleagues to ensure smooth operations, monitor progress and provide an excellent service at all times. By successfully managing work activities, materials and site labour resources, you'll ensure that agreed projects are delivered on time, to budget and in compliance with internal quality standards and Network Rail requirements.  

‍As an effective leader, you'll empower Site Supervisors to confidently carry out their duties and excel in their role.  You'll maintain project schedules so that projects stick to agreed timelines, and will take effective corrective action to address any problems that are identified along the way.

About You

You'll have proven experience of working on Rail fencings, vegetation or civil engineering projects and hold PTS and SMSTS (or equivalent) competencies.  With excellent interpersonal skills, you’ll enjoy building effective and productive working relationships with clients, sub-contractors and colleagues alike.  Being highly organised with logical problem-solving skills, you’ll be able to plan the logistics needed to deliver works within agreed timescales.  You'll have an excellent understanding of Rail health, safety and environment practices and of Network Rail requirements, and have previous experience of producing Safe Works Packs.

The role will require you to be a self-motivated team member who can work both independently and ‘muck-in’ as part of a team.  You will take pride in your work, complete tasks to a high standard, in line with the organisations ethos and values.

‍Remuneration & Benefits

Basic salary is up to £50,000 per annum depending on experience, Company Vehicle, 40 hour week working Monday to Friday 7.30am to 4.30pm, with weekend overtime available, company pension scheme. 20 days annual leave, plus bank holidays
