Senior Site Agent – Highways
Location: Banwell, Somerset (BS29)
Contract: Initial 3 months (potential to extend)
Rate: £400–£450 Per Day OUTSIDE IR35

The Opportunity
An immediate opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Site Agent to join a high-profile highways project in Somerset. This is a critical role on a major infrastructure scheme, initially offered as a 3-month contract with strong potential for extension.
You’ll be stepping in to support the site team, helping to ensure the smooth running of daily operations and keeping delivery on track. It’s a great chance to get involved in a long-term project with strategic regional impact.
The Role
As Senior Site Agent, you’ll be responsible for managing sections of works across highways and civil infrastructure, ensuring that safety, quality, and programme targets are consistently met. You’ll coordinate subcontractors, liaise with engineering teams, and maintain site documentation and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day delivery of works on site
- Manage subcontractor performance and work packages
- Ensure compliance with H&S, environmental and CDM regulations
- Monitor progress against programme and report updates to the project lead
- Maintain high standards of quality, safety and documentation
What We’re Looking For:
- Ideally have experience in a Site Agent role within highways or major infrastructure
- Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering works, particularly highways, earthworks, and structures
- Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating across site teams
- Proactive, organised, and confident in decision-making
- SMSTS and CSCS certifications essential
