If you’re an experienced Estimator who thrives on ownership, strategy, and influence, this is a role worth your attention.
We’re seeking a Senior Estimator to take a leading role in securing and shaping utility and civil engineering projects. You’ll manage the full tender lifecycle, mentor a team, and play a key part in delivering commercially sound, winning bids.
This is more than pricing — it’s about making informed decisions, managing risk, and contributing directly to business growth.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the tender process from receipt through to submission, adjudication, and negotiation

Produce accurate, competitive tenders aligned with technical and commercial requirements

Carry out take-offs from drawings and BIM/CAD models

Build rates from first principles (labour, plant, materials)

Manage subcontractor enquiries and analyse returns

Ensure all tender submissions are delivered on time ⏱️

Identify risks, challenges, and opportunities within bids ⚠️

Ensure compliance with health & safety standards

Support smooth handover to delivery teams

Keep up to date with legislation and client requirements

Lead and mentor the estimating team

Build strong relationships with internal teams and supply chain
About You:

Proven experience as a Senior Estimator or established Estimator in utilities/civils

Strong track record of winning work

Experience mentoring or leading others
-
Excellent commercial and analytical skills
-
Strong communicator with stakeholder management experience

Able to manage multiple tenders and deadlines
-
Detail-focused, proactive, and commercially aware
Qualifications:

Degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, or similar (or equivalent experience)

Strong knowledge of construction methods and estimating processes
-
BIM experience (desirable)
-
Full UK driving licence
