An exceptional Tier 1 contractor have an unmissable opportunity for a Senior Environmental Manager to join their team and assess the Environmental impacts on a prestigious Highways project.

The position is primarily remote, meaning you can come from any corner of the country; you will conduct your work over Microsoft teams and site visits will be rare due to the early stages of the contract.

Job Duties:

As Senior Environmental Manager, you will be performing as a Senior consultant, playing a key part in the project’s progression from ECI stage into the construction phase. Day to day you will:

  • Assess environmental impacts such as: noise, ecological, pollution and sustainability, whilst overseeing initial investigation works and coming up with innovative solutions at a strategic level.
  • You will be fundamental in achieving Permits at a senior level, working with stakeholder Managers and the Ops teams.
  • You will be pivotal in the achievement of DCO approvals, permits to dig on land and assessing Environmental impact to the local community.
  • You will assess ecological impact through countryside routes to endangered species such as bats, voles, moles, and newts and provide a strategy of propose relocation for such species.
  • You will provide Environmental risk and strategy reports at a senior strategic level to clients.

Ideal Candidate:

  • You must be Degree qualified in a relevant Environmental field
  • Chartered member of IEMA
  • You will have experience in bidding and pre-construction activities on new build Highways site or HS2 works.
  • You will be able to work at strategic level, ideally with Tier 1 experience.
  • You will be confident in working autonomously due to the remote nature of the role.

Package:

This position is a one-year fixed term contract with opportunity to go permanent once complete.

£60,000 - £70,000 basic salary (dependant on experience)
