Senior Engineer (Quality)

Location: Woolwich

Contract: up to £380pd (IR35 subject to determination)

Length: 12 Month Contract

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Engineer with a strong focus on quality assurance to join a team delivering clean water pipeline infrastructure projects across the Thames Water region. Working on major water network upgrades, this role will play a key part in ensuring the highest standards of quality are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.

You will work closely with project managers, site teams and subcontractors to ensure that pipeline installation works are delivered in line with design specifications, industry standards and client requirements. The role will involve overseeing quality processes, supporting site delivery teams and ensuring all documentation and inspection procedures are completed accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with project specifications, industry standards and quality procedures
  • Develop and manage Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and quality documentation
  • Carry out site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with project and client requirements
  • Review and manage as-built documentation and handover records
  • Support project teams with technical guidance relating to quality assurance and compliance
  • Liaise with project managers, design teams and subcontractors to resolve technical or quality issues
  • Monitor installation works to ensure clean water pipelines are delivered safely and to the required standards
  • Promote a right-first-time approach across all site activities

About You

  • Experience working on water infrastructure or utility pipeline projects
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance processes within civil engineering or utilities
  • Experience managing ITPs, inspections and project documentation
  • Good understanding of clean water pipeline installation and associated standards
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent industry experience

This role offers the opportunity to work on a significant programme of clean water infrastructure projects for a tier one contractor, supporting the delivery of essential upgrades to the region’s water network. This is a project with long term scope, with work for up to the next five years.
