Summary
One of our main Tier one construction clients whose name is synonymous with large Civil Engineering schemes across Highways, Water and Built environment are developing their design team and as such are looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join their established design team. The company have a healthy pipeline of work spanning multiple frameworks and large projects. As a Senior Design Engineer with this company, you would benefit from working across a variety of schemes and managing design engineering teams across all divisions.
The Role
As Senior Design Engineer you will need to attend meetings and site visits to be proactive in where you can identify scope for your services and identify future projects.
You will need to ensure all design output is correctly implemented and all the appropriate checks have been done and conduct design reviews in line with Builds Management System (BMS) procedure.
Establish that all designs are within estimate fees and everything is completed by deadlines set.
Prepare and/or check internal designs and supervise the preparation and/or checking designs by other teams or external organisations.
Produce and supervise drawings and schedules based on the result of output.
As a Senior Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the production and checking of temporary work designs as well as assisting in line management of the design team.
You will have line management responsibilities alongside your engineering and design responsibilities. They would include supporting, Design Engineers, Graduate Design Engineers and Student Engineers. You will also work alongside other operational teams and Senior Design Engineers on live construction projects and future bids or tenders.
You will also need to liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and any other stakeholders.
Utilise your strong working knowledge of CDM 2015 and the businesses construction business management system to ensure you achieve the correct standards of Safety, Quality and Environmental Management.
Be proactive in Continual Professional Development and its maintenance and help others maintain or advance their technical capability.

Their dedicated internal engineering consultancy provides an in-house technical service to the whole company.

Are you a passionate and ambitious Senior Design Engineer, who genuinely enjoys solving engineering problems and developing engineering solutions?
