The Company
Our client, part of a multibillion engineering organisation is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their rail division working in a project within the North East.
Operating in several sectors including Civil Engineering, Environmental and construction, their rail division accounting most of their turnover.
Working as a contractor of choice to a number of tier 1 organisations our client who also act as a tier 1 contractors as well as tier 2 have firm place within the infrastructure market with new projects being won, and expansion of teams and increase annual turnover for the past 9 years . This is an exciting time to be joining my client as a Quantity Surveyor within their rail division.
The role of Quantity Surveyor
As Quantity Surveyor joining the rail division you will be proactively involved with all areas of the projects along with other areas of the project team such as programming, design and site management. This is a site-based role and will be work on NEC contracts predominately option A.
As Quantity Surveyor you will:
- Have a strong contractual understanding of the project and what is expected
- Deal with regular amendments and understand the impacts of these to the project
- Deal with cost management
- Deal with change management
- provide information for monthly CVR reviews to report this back to the PD/MQS.
- Work closely with sub-contractors
- Get involved with some procurement
Ideal Candidate
- You will be degree qualified within Quantity Surveying or have an equivalent qualification
- You will have experience within Civils, Rail and/or M&E background
- You will have recent experience to managing several sub-contractor packages
Remuneration
Circa £40,000 - £45,000
25 days holiday including bank holidays

Travel mileage covered
5% Pension Contribution
