The Company

We are working on behalf of our client that is a global organisation, that work within a wide range of sectors, and this position is situated in their rail division. They strive to provide cutting edge technology to the UK’s Rail network! After winning contracts across the rail network, my client is now looking for a Rail Signalling Infrastructure professional, to provide service delivery to their customers on signalling projects across the UK.

The Role

As Operations Manager for Customer Services Rail Infrastructure you will own the operational delivery and financial performance of the signalling support and maintenance activities across the UK. This includes a number of high-profile contracts with key clients such as Network Rail and Transport for London.

As a senior member of the team, you will report to the Head of Customer Services Rail Infrastructure and play a key role in the strategic future and direction of the department. You will lead a team consisting of Account, Materials and Service Delivery managers, as well as collaborating closely with fellow senior leadership team colleagues.

The role also retains responsibility for digital services within the portfolio – identifying opportunities to develop and implement digital solutions that generate value to our customers whilst taking ownership of future growth in this area.

About You

You’ll be a strong leader, with exceptional customer service experience within the Rail Infrastructure sector. You will have the ability to build relationships with key customers and ensure an excellent level of customer satisfaction. Be commercially aware to manage the financial performance of all operations, identifying and implementing efficiency and continuous improvement opportunities, accurate budgeting and forecasting. Provide governance and oversight of operations tender activity, working closely with bids and tendering and Headquarters when required

Requirements

  • Degree qualified or equivalent
  • Understanding of how critical infrastructure systems operate in rail signalling or similar such as Electrification, Track etc
  • Excellent leadership skills including an ability to drive a team’s performance
  • Demonstrable experience in service delivery management or project management
  • Knowledge of contract safety requirements and contract conditions
  • Excellent communication skills, with customers, external partners and internal colleagues at all levels

Benefits

Salary up to £62k, Company car or car allowance (£6k), Bonus scheme up to 12.5%, 26 days holiday + BH and matched pension scheme.
