The UK infrastructure sector is growing at speed with a surge in commuter traffic encouraging accelerated investment into major construction programs. With an evident increase in vehicles back on the roads, the Highways sector continues making improvements to some of the country’s most well known routes. The Company 

You will be joining a key protagonist of the consultancy world, that has a significant footprint in the Highways sector and currently employ over a thousand personnel throughout the UK. This part of the business is made up of civil engineering, structures, transport planning, geotechnical and consulting services, ensuring they are well equipped to deliver projects of all sizes for both Highways England and Local Authorities, considering long term sustainability goals

The role

As the NEC Supervisor, you will be working on projects throughout the North of England. You will be part of the team that has been appointed as Technical Advisors within projects, so your background as a highways construction specialist to aid growth of the team in the region is key.

The position offers a great deal of project and technical variety on a day-to-day basis, where you will benefit from diverse work to aid your professional development.  

The role of the NEC Supervisor, in this case operating in line with NEC 4 Option C, will bring with it vast amounts of engagement with the client, reporting any risks and issues on site throughout the project. This will require full review of supplier’s designs and raising queries to ensure constructability in terms of safety and quality, through to inspecting that work undertaken by contractors meets specifications and standards stipulated in the contract.

Remuneration

Basic salary is subject to experience but offers in the region of £45,000 along with a very attractive benefits package.

About you

The role will suit an NEC Supervisor that has demonstrable experience overseeing Highways England and / or Local Authority construction projects. You will be required to have significant knowledge of NEC4 to be able to identify risks or issues that compromise delivery of work in line with agreed contracts, as well as a track record of resolving technical queries that arise in project delivery.

An HNC as a minimum is desired, but Ganymede will welcome applications from candidates without this qualification, but have extensive experience.

The role has a flexible approach between working on site and from home so being responsible for your own diary and planning accordingly is a big part of this position.
