Wanted! We have an urgent requirement for an experienced Mechanical Technician to carry out rolling stock overhauls and maintenance on an initial 6-month contract!!

Our client is an industry leader specializing in overhauls, maintenance and servicing of passenger trains, locomotives, freight wagons and track plant.

The Candidate:

Our client requires an experienced rolling stock Mechanical Technician who can perform mechanical maintenance on a fleet of trains which are due to be released into public service after their refresh. This will be ideal for you if you are available to start immediately and have proven experience in a safety critical engineering environment.

The Role:

You will be entrusted to carry out mechanical maintenance tasks, basic exam work, repairs, CET works and basic exam work. The successful mechanical technician will also have experience working on trollies, wheels and brake sets along with other external components.

The Requirements:

To be considered for this role you will have a Mechanical Technician background ideally from Rolling Stock, Aerospace, Aviation or a similar engineering role. You must hold a minimum of a Level 3 NVQ / C&G certificate in engineering and must be able to attend a medical and can commence work immediately or within a week’s notice. Mechanical technicians with a background in REME or RAF will also be considered.

Salary: £18 per hour (4 on/ 4 off; nights only)
