THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
You will be an experienced Mechanical Engineer within the Gearboxes or Rolling Stock sector, with exceptional planning, organisational skills with an element of design and reverse engineering experience. You’ll be analytically minded, with well-developed presentation and communication skills. You’ll be highly customer focused and with a great understanding of commercial realities and implications. You will also have a background within negotiating and a good technical and commercial understanding and pragmatism where necessary
ABOUT THE JOB
As the Mechanical Engineer you’ll provide leadership for a range of retrofit projects including gearboxes and couplers, as well as being the point of contact with the customer. So, having a strong background within a mechanical environment around industrial gearboxes is a necessity for this position. You will provide knowledge and skill in the reverse engineering of mechanical systems and be able to produce designs on CAD to improve the performance and reliability of existing products. You’ll work closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure the projects run smoothly according to the desired technical performance, budget and schedule. You’ll develop and follow-up the detailed planning for documentation, delivery and commissioning for the entire scope and you’ll manage the project-related risk management. Normal hours of work are Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm, but there is flexibility and agile working available.
THE REQUIREMENTS
- HND / HNC as a minimum
- Rolling Stock Repair and overhaul experience would be advantageous
THE SALARY
Salary is up to £60k, Car Allowance, 7% (average) Bonus, private medical insurance Great Pension + 25 Days Holiday + BH
