General Foreman – Pipeline / Heavy Civils

Southampton

We’re looking an experienced General Foremen to support delivery of a major pipeline scheme. This is a long-term opportunity on a live infrastructure project, with works running through to early 2027.

This role will suit individuals who are hands-on, visible on site and comfortable leading from the front across multiple work fronts.

The Role
You’ll be responsible for day-to-day site operations across enabling works and pipeline construction. This is a site-based role where you’ll be expected to take control of daily activities, ensure works are delivered safely and to spec, and keep teams aligned with the programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations across enabling works and pipeline installation
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety and compliance on site
  • Carry out quality checks and ensure works meet specification
  • Coordinate with Site Managers on access, permits and sequencing
  • Complete daily plant checks including PUWER and rollers
  • Deliver daily briefings and ensure clear understanding of work fronts
  • Maintain accurate site records and daily diaries
  • Supervise subcontractors across multiple areas
  • Act as Temporary Works Supervisor
  • Maintain a strong on-site presence, driving standards and productivity

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a General Foreman on heavy civils or pipeline projects
  • Strong leadership with the ability to manage dispersed teams
  • Good understanding of plant compliance, safety checks and site controls
  • Experience managing subcontractors across active work fronts
  • Confident communicator with a practical, hands-on approach

Certifications

  • CSCS Gold or Black Card
  • SMSTS
  • Temporary Works Supervisor
  • First Aid (desirable)

The Offer

  • Monday to Friday working, with potential weekend work later in the programme
