Ganymede are working exclusively with this family orientated organisation, as they seek to bring new Field Service Engineers into their business to enable them to grow further and open new depots!
The Role
As a Field Service Engineer, you will be expected to support the Depot Foreman with all day-to-day engineering requirements of the depot. In this role, you be predominately field based, with some yard-based work as and when the business requires. Your main location depot will be Grays, Essex, but you are paid door to door, and will cover an area of South London to the South Coast. You will be conducting fault diagnostics, maintenance and repair of Generator Engines for a variety of sectors, including Healthcare, Utilities, Construction and Events, such as the Reading Festival!
About You
You will be experienced in either the mechanical and electrical maintenance of diesel engines and / or generators and associated electrical control technology, Control panel, AC/DC Electrical Systems, with the ability to demonstrate your experience of fault diagnostics and repair.
Working in the depot environment, or customer locations, such a with Healthcare, Utilities, Construction, or Event and Music Festivals.
Due to the nature of the role, we welcome applications from the ex-forces personnel, such as RAF, Royal Navy or British Army, or experienced engineers within Marine, Rail, Automotive, HGV or Bus sector.
Fully product training will be provided as Service Engineers are responsible for the servicing and maintenance of Gensets.
Requirements
- NVQ in plant maintenance/equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience in the generator / plant hire industry
- Capability to prioritise workload to ensure weekly service schedules are completed on time
- Full UK driving licence held for a minimum of 3 years
- Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative with minimum supervision
- Able to communicate on all levels
- Eager to ensure excellent customer service levels at all times
The Salary
Basic salary of £33,462 per annum, this increases after your 3-month probation. You are also supplied with a company van, fuel card, laptop and mobile. This role is a field-based covering Grays, Essex, to Crawley, West Sussex region, Monday to Friday 8am to 4.30pm, 39 hours a week, 25 Days holiday + BH, Overtime available, paid door to door, Company pension scheme.
