Established in the 1970's, our experience is wide ranging. We began as a steel fabricator, constructing frames for major clients like Experian, Nottingham Trent University and Tesco. We grew our business alongside our counterparts, expanding our knowledge and product range and furthering our influence.
In early 2007, we diversified, moving into the engineered timber industry. This change saw our business grow rapidly - we began building a number of supermarkets for environmentally conscious retailers. Since them, we've worked on a vast array of projects including multi-national commercial HQ's and large-scale residential developments. To date we’ve worked on some of the UK’s most innovative, sustainable projects. Whilst we continue to work with steel, we’re now the market leader for CLT and hybrid construction projects.
JOB DESCRIPTION
As an Estimator they will be required to deal with all pre-contract tenders. As a team they work out which tenders to bid on and which to leave alone so you will be required to hit the ground running using your skills and knowledge. Your day to day responsibilities include
•Finding out what the client wants
•Researching materials, equipment and labour costs.
•Gathering quotes from sub-contractors and suppliers.
•Assessing the levels of risk on a project’s
•Analysing company data, exchange rates and prices using software package
•Preparing and submitting quotations for wor
•Helping with bids for new contracts and supporting buying activitie
•Monitoring the stages of a project to make sure that costs are kept in line with forecasts
Skills & Qualifications:
BTEC / NVQ in construction or relevant subject is desirable
Deal Breakers:
Need to have come from a steel structures background
PERMANENT REMUNERATION POLICY / CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Basic salary circa £30k
8am – 5pm (Monday – Thursday) & 8am to 4pm (Friday)
25 days holiday + 8 days bank holiday (3 days of annual leave to be used at Christmas)
Pension is 4% matched
Life assurance included
