The Role

Reporting into the Head of Engineering, you will be leading a thriving team as a key player in increasing the Engineering competency and capability on rail projects across this company’s Eastern Enhancements and Access for All frameworks. Acting as CEM, you will support the project teams in delivering the business plan by providing technical expertise and mentoring within the company’s core disciplines.

This is a predominantly office-based position which will give you the opportunity to showcase innovative thinking and bring challenge to the design process whilst supporting the construction staff throughout the planning and construction phases of projects.

Day to day you can expect to discharge the duties of CEM in accordance with NR/L2/INI/02009, engage with the Project Team to provide support as required throughout the design cycle, ensure adequate CRE competencies are allocated to schemes in all relevant disciplines, act as lead reviewer during readiness review, and ensure AFC deliverables have undergone adequate review for buildability and risk management.

Package

For this position, the company is offering a basic salary of £60,000 to £72,000 per annum, the choice of a company car or car allowance, 26 days holiday + bank holidays with two optional charity days and the option to buy more holidays, funding and support with professional memberships, Pension, Life assurance and an Agile working policy.

About you

If you want to hit the ground running in this role, it is essential that you’re a technically qualified Civil, Electrical or Mechanical engineer acting as either an Engineering Manager or Network rail Senior Project Engineer/Designate Project Engineer (DPE).

Your portfolio will consist of multi-disciplined rail projects, and you will have ideally worked on station enhancement works.
