Engineer (Highways and Civils)

Hampshire

To start in April with an initial 12 month contract

“Are you looking for an opportunity to secure work for the next 5 years on an exciting Transportation Framework across Highways, Rail, Costal civil and structural engineering works?”

The Company and the role

Ganymede are currently working in partnership with a large local authority based across Hampshire to deliver an exciting five year £500m Transportation framework across many areas of Civil and Structural Engineering within sectors such as Rail, Highways, Marine and more. Projects will range from a few hundred thousand in value up to £150,000,000 so this long term opportunity is sure to provide you with a vast amount of experience as well as an exciting work life given the scale of the projects you will be involved in.

The Role of an Engineer

As an Engineer on this project, you will be expected to manage a particular section of works being responsible for anything from the paperwork and contractual side, to proposing design solutions considering all Health and Safety aspects, through to detailed design and actioning the implementation on site through the relevant contractors.

You will be expected to estimate and manage costs as well conducting progress reviews and subsequent reports to ensure the project runs on time and within the allocated budget.

Using sector specific documents, processes and agreements such as Section 38 and 278 agreements is inevitable for this type of work and as such, you will be responsible for liaising with stakeholders including developers, consultants, planners and solicitors to ensure the successful delivery of your works.

The Requirements

For the position of Engineer, you will need to hold a certain level of qualification to fulfil the requirements of the job, so I’d be really interested in speaking with you if you hold either a HNC/HND, NVQ, Degree, or similar within Civil Engineering.

CAD software will be used throughout your time on the framework so experience with design packages such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD or similar will be highly beneficial to you.
