Delivering a long-term framework, this Design Manager role is uniquely positioned in the market for someone looking to prove their capabilities as a Design Manager in the Civils aspect of the rail sector and improve their current expertise through training and development into becoming a CEM later on in the role.
The Opportunity:
As Design Manager, the candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing successful deliverly of rail infrastructure schemes. The works in question will be an exciting variety of Civil Engineering and building schemes including station refurbishments, drainage, structures, asset maintenance and repair.
• Support and deputise for the Engineering Manager when required
• Work with the team to identify design flaws, challenges and provide innovative engineering solutions.
• Liaise with key clients and stakeholders on project design progress
• Monitor the progress of design delivery against the original programme
The Company
Established as a key supplier to Network Rail amongst others, you will be joining a Tier 1 contract provider of design for rail, highways, environmental, and utilities sectors. Remuneration and benefits
A great benefits package is available consisting of £60,000 basic salary per annum, plus company car (or £6K allowance), 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, Private Medical Insurance, Pension and Life Assurance.

This is a role delivering multidisciplinary multi-disciplinary rail infrastructure schemes and as such it is a given that you will:
- Assist with selection and Management of Design consultants
- Identify and Manag project risk in relation to design
- Work with key stakeholders both internally and externally to provide solutions
