The Opportunity:

Let’s be clear – this Contract Manager role is a senior appointment for this organisation. You will be responsible for successfully driving a team towards maximum growth within the Midlands and you will be fundamental in competing for new works and winning bids, which will ensure an ever-growing presence throughout the region. The projects will involve a variety of disciplines and size; you could be developing works on anything from £50k asset management works, right up to major civils £20m new builds.

However, you will not be ‘just’ another cog in the machine. Whilst you will be joining an established and proven tier 1 contractor, you will be joining a team that values relationships, is personable, and seeks to identify and reward their successful people with real career opportunity. What is expected of you as Contract Manager…?

  • You will take full responsibility for the operational management of a package of civil engineering works, to include the financial monitoring and control of the schemes within the regional portfolio of works.
  • You will build and develop important relationships with all client stakeholders attending regular Framework progress meetings, design coordination meetings and commercial meetings.
  • Full responsibility for and management of all Safety, Health, Environment & Quality matters across the Framework.

Remuneration and benefits

A great benefits package is available consisting of £75,000 – £80,000 basic salary per annum, plus Company car or car allowance, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, Private Medical Insurance etc.

About you

This is a senior role delivering multidisciplinary works as part of a key framework in the rail sector and as such it is a given that you will;

  • Have vast experience across rail projects that may include asset maintenance or upgrades to bridges, stations, platforms, embankments, tunnels etc.
  • Demonstrate clear experience of the contracting process and technical construction requirements to Network Rail standards.
  • Hold BSc / BEng in Civil engineering
  • Be a Chartered Member of a relevant professional institution (preferably ICE)
