Job Title: Commercial Manager
Location: Manchester (National role with regular travel across sites, Doncaster, London, and other locations) Please note this position is full time office working and not a hybrid position
Salary: £90,000 + Car and Package (Permanent) / £500-600 per day (Contract)

Role Overview: 
As the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for driving the commercial performance of the company's portfolio. You will manage a small team (5-6 people, from QS to SQS) and oversee 3-5 projects, while also taking responsibility for the performance and profitability of these contracts. This is a varied role where you will manage tenders, risks, cost impacts, and changes across multiple projects. The ideal candidate will have experience with NEC3/4 Option A contracts, and a good understanding of project delivery, programme controls, and planning. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Commercial Management 

  • Oversee a portfolio of contracts, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. 

  • Manage 3-5 projects at a time, providing strategic commercial support to your team (QS/SQS) and project delivery teams. 

  • Achieve tender margin targets and actively pursue opportunities to improve profitability across projects. 

  • Identify and manage risks and opportunities within contracts, ensuring that commercial objectives are met while maintaining strong client relationships. 

  • Oversee change management and variations, ensuring that costs are accurately captured and appropriately integrated into project plans. 

  • Team Leadership: Lead a small team of 5-6 professionals, from QS to SQS, providing guidance, mentorship, and ongoing support. 

  • Foster a positive, collaborative working environment that aligns with the ethos of the team. 

  • Drive team performance and ensure alignment with both individual and company goals, working closely with other divisions to integrate with planning and project delivery. 

  • Client and Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain amicable yet commercially focused relationships with clients, stakeholders, and suppliers.
