This managerial role will enable you to take the lead on Rail / Civil Engineering bids for a huge contractor! Based in a rail division with a turnover in excess of £150 million, you will take lead managing tenders and proposals for Rail Infrastructure projects across the UK. The team is currently responsible for 50% of the company’s annual turnover and you will oversee approximately five bids and tender from PQQ to tender submission. Working closely with the Pre-Contracts Manager a key part of the role is communication and ensuring that the relevant information is pooled from the correct support functions ie. HSQE, Engineering, Planning, Estimating and Commercial.
As Bid Manager for the region and you will be a contributor to the delivery of the portfolio growth and objectives through the development, agreement and ownership of bid activities designed to optimise work winning opportunities across the rail industry.
Key responsibilities within the role of Bid Manager will include but not be limited to:
Identifying opportunities, management and completion of pre-qualification documentation, Bid management, liaising with internal and external stakeholders concerning bids and tenders, work closely with bid writers by providing technical input, and chair progress and settlement meetings.

Remuneration and benefits
An impressive package is available consisting of a basic salary of up to £60,000, plus company car or car allowance, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, flexible working, Private Medical Insurance, Pension, Life insurance, support and funding of chartership.
If you are a natural leader who thrives in Bid Management, communicating with all levels of personnel to ensure the business is awarded the projects it tenders for, with knowledge within infrastructure, then you are already on the right track to step into this role. With the most important factors of your experience lying in your leadership and work winning background, this means there is a vast range of where this role can evolve from. You could be a Senior Project Manager who has dealt with the bid / tender / proposal / pre-contract stages of a project or a Commercial Manager who also possesses that crucial on-site knowledge.
