Company: This company is a forward thinking, leading edge supplier of civil engineering and rail services in the UK. This giant of the industry has an impressive portfolio of Rail, Road, Nuclear, and other major projects worldwide. They are a Principal Contractor and one of Network Rail’s top 20 suppliers enabling them to work on the most prestigious projects across the UK. Through their commitment to open and collaborative approaches to working, they have a secure workload developed through frameworks from Northumberland to North London and into East Midlands. To help them deliver these regionally significant projects, they are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor who would like to advance their careers with a forward-thinking company.

Role Description: The company are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join them in their regional offices in York to help manage several projects on a rail framework that will involve structures, bridges, replacement and strengthening schemes valued up to £20million. All the projects are at design stage at present but once they are live (towards the start of 2022) there will be opportunity for site visits on occasion. Sites are based between North London and the Scottish border, so someone who isn’t averse to travel and has a driver’s license is essential. Aside from site visits, this company have a refreshing view towards remote working so you will have an opportunity to work from home for up to 3 days per week. In terms of your day-to-day role, the Commercial Lead is looking for someone to manage the entire commercial lifecycle of these projects and so you will be responsible for; submitting payment applications, submitting notices to the client, change management, subcontract management, monthly CVR’s, forecasting etc.

Required Experience: To be considered for this opportunity you will need to have experience operating as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the civil engineering or rail sectors. Additionally, due to the travel, you will need a drivers license and will be okay travelling long distance. Most importantly, you need to be someone who is looking to progress, learn and be a hardworking member of the team!

Remuneration: The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will receive a competitive salary of up to £60,000 (depending on experience), company car or car allowance, 26 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays, 42.5 hour working week, pension contribution + additional benefits alongside an opportunity to work within an established rail business with ample opportunity to progress through the ranks.
