The Role
As the Mechanical Engineer you’ll be providing support with planning and procurement for this 5-year project. Carrying out on site assembly, commissioning, operation and maintenance of Mechanical systems and equipment to ensure the prestigious work are safe and fit for purpose. This will include the install, maintenance and supervision of Tunnel Boring Machines, rolling stock, ventilation, conveyor and gantry systems.
You’ll also be tasked with the comprehensive, accurate and complete Mechanical design that meet the industry standards, to identify interface between individual systems, understand relationship between systems and highlight potential clash and ensure overall system is developed to meet expectations.
You will develop programmes and ensure that the Mechanical works are completed to the programme taking into consideration for other works that may impact/be impacted by the works and liaise with Project Team to review and discuss designs and developments
About You
You’ll be an experienced Mechanical Engineer, with a background in sectors such as Utilities, Power, Construction or Tunnelling. Be proficient in design with excellent technical ability and know how. You’ll be able to develop and maintain positive and collaborative relationships with colleagues, clients and sub-contractors, whilst drive efficiency on the project and always work towards ensuring KPIs are delivered as per expectations
The Requirements
- Relevant Degree Qualification in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience working in the mechanical engineering and tunnelling field
- Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability
- Ability to build and maintain lasting and positive relationships
- Data acquisition and interrogation skills
