2D CAD Technician

One of the UK’s most successful Tier 1 contractors has an opportunity for a 2D CAD Technician to join a positive and proactive in-house team delivering work for major highways schemes.
The Role –
You will be a fundamental part of the draughting and visualisation function, supporting the wider team of engineers in clearly conveying design intent to clients across a broad spectrum of projects.
- You will assist in the development of innovative design solutions
- You will work to a fast-paced environment due to the high turnover of work
- Use AutoCAD as your main draughting tool for 2D drawings, opportunities to use 3D visualisation may arise
- You will be required to occasionally go to site and undertake surveys and measurement of existing features to assist the creation of more accurate design and output
- You will liaise with site teams to gather and qualify information relating to designs to issue drawings where necessary
- You will support varied projects such as; major highways schemes, bridges and structures, building construction, environmental and water

- You will be from a Civil engineering CAD 2D background looking at earthworks, structural stabilisation, temporary works, construction
- You will be motivated by longevity in your role and pride yourself on job satisfaction
- You will have a passion for 2D design and execute work at the highest standard ensuring you exceed customer requirements leading to strong relationships and generating repeat work.
- HNC/HND qualification in Civil Engineering
