Ganymede’s support to the local communities continues as we are now sponsoring Welsh boxer, Alex Hughes. Nicknamed “Bad News”, the 24-year-old Middleweight from Rhondda Cynon Taff turned professional back in 2014, and currently stands at 13-0 7 KO’s.
Throughout Alex’s career, there have been some challenges along the way, as anyone in sports can relate to. However, Alex has consistently remained committed despite the adversity through awareness, training and attention to detail.
Alex Hughes said: “Without the likes of Ganymede getting behind me and supporting me, my career would have struggled to take back off after such a long time out due to an eye injury. I’ll be forever grateful and will always wear the logo on my kit with pride.”
Stuart Fraser, Accounts Director of Ganymede added: “In line with our commitment to corporate social responsibility and our company core values of people being our passion, to be able to witness first hand Alex’s remarkable comeback and the positive impact it has had within the local communities has been brilliant. Alex has put his heart and soul into the boxing gym to get himself into a position where he can challenge for titles once again. He is a true inspiration and a great role model for aspiring young sports enthusiasts to reach their life goals. I personally cannot wait to see how far Alex can go in boxing as there is no doubt that he has all of the attributes to reach to the top.”
We take our social responsibility commitments seriously and are passionate about sponsoring local teams and individuals in sport. We are extremely pleased to be supporting Alex through his boxing career and Ganymede would like to wish him the best of luck in all his upcoming fights.
