Are you a Sub agent feeling like your role is not providing you with the diversity of work to keep you on your toes?! With the company’s rail division boasting an immense work bank, this Sub agent role is positioned in the market for somebody to showcase their skills by helping lead a series of rail civil engineering projects (with a significant amount of culvert works).

The Opportunity:

This position will be based on small-medium sized projects throughout the Yorkshire region predominantly consisting of culverts, drainage, bridge repairs, and asset management projects. Turning over at a fast rate, you will pragmatically and successfully play a fundamental part in the project delivery across the framework.

What is expected of me as Sub Agent?

  • You will ensure daily and weekly planning of site works are being carried out, including assisting in the production of Risk Assessments, Work Package Plans, Inspection Test Plans, etc.
  • Ensuring that in conjunction with the site teams, changes in the contract are identified, agreed, and effectively managed.
  • Continuously monitoring the contract to ensure the client objectives are being met.
  • You will supervise the works on site including labour, plant and subcontractors.
  • Day-to-day management of sub-contractors and engineers as required.
  • Setting out and surveying works on site when required.
  • You will review and interpret project drawings and specification for site-based activity.
  • You will provide formal report on contract progress to the Project and Contracts Managers.

Remuneration and benefits

A great benefits package is available consisting of £45,000 – £50,000 basic salary per annum, plus Company car or car allowance, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, Private Medical Insurance etc.

As a Sub Agent delivering multidisciplinary works as part of a key framework in the rail sector it is a given that you will…

  • Have vast experience in a fast-paced environment across small to medium rail projects that may include access for all schemes, asset maintenance or upgrades to bridges, stations, platforms, embankments, tunnels etc.
  • Demonstrate clear experience of the contracting process and technical construction requirements to Network Rail standards.
  • Hold HNC or above in Civil engineering
