Are you an experienced Engineer seeking a new and exciting challenge within the rail industry?

Are you confident in overseeing a variety of Engineers and not afraid to get stuck in and get your hands dirty sometimes?

If this is you, then we are thrilled to showcase this permanent role with a Tier 1 contractor that has continually grown within the West Midlands.

They are seeking an experienced Site, Section or Senior engineer or Sub Agent to be responsible for the technical aspects on a portfolio of key projects.


The Role:

This position will be based on a multi-disciplined rail projects with a focus on Structures, Bridges Stations and more.

You will oversee a portfolio of your own schemes, from inception right through to construction on-site.

You will be supporting the project teams in delivering the business plan by providing technical support within the engineering disciplines.

With your innovation, you’ll test construction methodologies and bring ideas to the design, development, and delivery process, through the planning and construction phases of the projects.

Your other roles and responsibilities will include:

  • Supervise, provide guidance and mentorship to a variety of Engineers on the sites
  • Provide quality assurance at all stages of the schemes and provide reports at various stages
  • Use the construction information to deliver the project as per specification & requirements
  • Support project delivery and estimations during the tender process
  • Provide support and assessments to stakeholders, in both Design and Technical processes
  • Assist with resourcing, competency management and development of the Engineering team

Remuneration:

£43,000 to £49,000 Per Annum (Experience Dependant)

This will be accompanied with substantial benefits, including (but not limited to):

Overtime is paid at a substantial rate - In addition to your salary.

About You:

It is essential that you’re a qualified Site, Section or Senior engineer with experience working in a main contractor environment on civil engineering projects.

Rail experience is desirable, but if you are from a different civil engineering sector (including Heavy Civils, HS2, Water and Highways; that incorporates structures works), we would be keen to hear from you!

  • A qualification in Civil Engineering (HND/HNC) required as a minimum
