Senior Quantity Surveyor

The Company

Our client, with an annual turnover of C£300M is one of largest principal contractors within the UK, covering projects across the rail sector, from small works to major structures.

The Role

Daily roles and responsibilities:

• Production of monthly documentation regarding accounting, costing, contract management and financial information accurately within set time schedules.
• Ensure that the Project Manager is up to date to on all active projects and to be able to give key facts and regular updates as projects progress.
• The monitoring of costs against tender/contract specifications and agreements.
• Liaison with Clients giving and receiving costing information regarding ongoing contracts.
• Notifying clients using the appropriate methods of any variations to cost or specification and gaining the relevant authorisation. Raising any variation orders or claims as appropriate.
• Ensuring the Company’s contractual obligations regarding cost control is met, using the appropriate standards and methods.
• Assisting the Project Commercial Manager in the preparation of tender enquiries, responses and the determination of the Company’s charging structures.
• Responsible for preparing and producing commercial reports.
• Liaison with multiple partners to ensure a win approach for all participants.

About you

Our client will consider applicants from all civil engineering backgrounds, however Rail experience is highly desirable. The applicant must be able to demonstrate knowledge of NEC forms of contract as this is essential for the role.
