We are recruiting, on behalf of our Tier 1 client a Senior Planner to join their exisiting planning function to cover the civils works within the region as well as supporting on tendering for other packages too.
This role will run for an initial 12 months but possibility to extend beyond this point, this role will be a hybrid position with a set up of 3 days on site/office, 2 days from home.
Responsibilities include;
- Develop detail within an existing programme
- Planning from first principles
- Update and monitor progress within a programme against contract requirements
- Introduce and analyse change in programmes
- Produce and communicate programme information in a variety of formats, using routine and bespoke programme outputs
- Contribute and support operational teams on use of collaborative planning, risk and commercial issues
- Evaluate supply chain and subcontract programmes
- Collect and distribute feedback
- Assimilate and interpret information from tender documentation
- Resource and cost load programmes
- Review programme robustness
- Maintain awareness of latest construction techniques
- Undertake analytical assessment of programmes
- Establish and maintain internal and external project controls reporting
- Develop the content and structure for a tender programme
Ideal background
- A qualification in civil engineering
- Previous experience within civil engineering/ infrastructure, low to medium values ideal or high volume low value packages.
- A clear ability for logical thinking
- Thorough experience and understanding of programming techniques
- A demonstrable ability to produce short and medium-term programmes
- The ability to build strong relationships with the various internal stakeholders and teams
- The ability to work to defined, often challenging, timescales
- Support the commercial teams on projects
- Take ownership and contribute to planning, programme and risk from tender through to project completion
- Experience in smaller planning teams as you will be the face of the planning function for this project in the region
