The UK rail network is going through being upgraded and added to at a pace never seen before across the country, and the LNE framework is one of these programmes that will be gearing up over the coming months. If you are an experienced Senior Estimator who wants to make your mark in the Rail Industry, then this could be the ideal role for you!
When you are successful, as the Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for building high value and sustainable relationships with both clients and suppliers to drive down costs and increase stakeholder buy in. You will also be working closely with both the Bid Manager and the Commercial Team to table competitive prices, plan the methodology, deliver cost effective design options as well as developing proposals together.
A key feature of the role is coaching and developing junior estimators and direct reports, so if you have a real passion for what you do and want to see your knowledge passed on then look no further.
You will be joining one of the UK’s largest privately owned contractors, who have won the contract to lead in the LNE rail framework across the Yorkshire area. They have won this work based on their outstanding reputation from previous works for Network Rail, they are known for their reliability, diligence and having some of the most modern fleets of complex machinery, further expanding their ability to deliver best in clast civil infrastructure projects across the rail industry.
This company’s ability to carry out the most difficult works to the highest standard, is what sets them apart from the rest of the contractors operating in this space.
Basic salary is subject to experience and will be supplemented by a car allowance and additional “Big Company” benefits including a generous pension.
We are looking for a Senior Estimator with in-depth experience from first principals, on major civil infrastructure works within the rail industry. This could be experience in structures, tracks, earthworks or even stations refurbishments, you will ideally have worked on a mixture of these types of projects with a value of above £5 million.
You will also have first class people skills, as across the LNE framework stakeholder engagement and management is a key feature of the position, alongside this you will be mentoring and managing a team of direct reports.
You will hold or be working towards professional qualifications.
The position will also require a certain amount of travel between sites and the office, so you must be prepared to be mobile for this opportunity.
