“A rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced Estimator to take ownership of their own region of work and progress to the next level!”
Company: Since 1987 this Tier 1 contractor have grown to be one of the largest privately owned infrastructure companies in the UK with regional offices across England & Scotland. They have grown into being one the most recognisable Tier 1 contractors on Network Rail’s supply chain and have been certified as Gold ROSPA with NR for the past 2 years for efficiency on plant and engineering. Last year the rail business exceeded their projected turnover achieving £61million, which was a great result in the middle of a pandemic! They have a strong pipeline of projected works, having the CP6 IP frameworks for both Central and Anglia. Their rail framework division turn over upwards of £20million.
Role Description: Although you will be reporting into the Lead Estimator, this Senior Estimator role is very much an opportunity to “own the Eastern region of the business”. You will be responsible for leading the estimating function for all bids and tenders in the Eastern region where 90% of the schemes are rail based, although, due to the companies increased footprint in the region, there will also be an opportunity to work on building/civils schemes including station refurbishments, footbridges, Access For All schemes and station maintenance etc. Alongside this you will be responsible for growing the estimating team and will therefore have an opportunity to progress into a Lead Estimator role with training and support on hand. It’s worth noting that even though this position is based out of Normanton, there will be ample opportunity to work from home on a weekly basis.
Remuneration: On offer is a competitive salary of up to £70,000 (depending on experience), company car or car allowance, 26 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays, an opportunity for remote working on a weekly basis, pension contribution, Bupa health cover + additional benefits alongside a clear route to progression.
Required Experience: In order to be considered for this role you will need to have experience operating at Senior Estimator level with main contractors on rail schemes. Additionally, you need to have experience estimating from 1st principles.
