If this is you, then we are thrilled to showcase this permanent role with the Tier 1 contractor that has made their mark in the West Midlands, seeking a well-established Site, Section or Senior engineer or Sub Agent to be responsible for the technical aspects on a portfolio of key projects.

The Role:

This position will be based on a multi-disciplined rail projects with a focus on structures and earthworks. This will include Bridge refurbishments (reconstructions, new builds), as well as embankment stabilisations and earthworks! You will oversee a portfolio of your own schemes, which you will run from inception (design phase) right through to construction on site!  

You will be joining a company who are seeing massive growth within the West Midlands and following work on this project, you will see opportunities on various large scale works which will provide you with long term routes into management.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing high standards of safety, quality and environmental awareness
  • This includes method statement briefings, site specific inductions and associated paperwork.
  • Produce and monitor detailed contract programmes in line with Planning Standards.
  • Exhibit good knowledge of construction outputs.
  • Writing and/or reviewing detailed complex method statements.
  • Chairing meetings with the Customer, Designer, Sub-contractor, Supplier, and 3rd parties.
  • Manage and write contractual letters/correspondence and parts of the cost plan
  • Setting up and managing the office administration systems.

£36,000 to £45,000 Per Annum

Overtime is paid at a substantial rate, in addition to your salary.

About You:

It is essential that you’re a qualified Site, Section or Senior engineer with experience working in a main contractor environment on rail civil engineering projects.

Rail experience is desirable but if you are from different civil engineering sector, incorporating structures works we would be keen to hear from you, to help you with your step into the rail industry!

  • A qualification in Civil Engineering (HND/HNC) required as a minimum
