As major civil engineering projects appear all over the UK, a leading contractor is looking to expand its highways team in the South of England. So if you are a Quantity Surveyor with great civil engineering experience, ideally highways, with in depth NEC contracts exposure, then this could be the next move for you!

The Role:

When successful, as the Quantity Surveyor, you will be reporting into the Managing Quantity Surveyor. In this multi-faceted position, you will be working on some of the most innovative and exciting highways projects in the UK.

Some of the finer details of the Quantity Surveyor include:

  • Compiling CVR’s and presenting them
  • Providing bi-annual commercial reports to clients and senior commercial team
  • Managing and processing payments to sub-contractors
  • Speaking with suppliers and sub-contractors to establish cost
  • Processing contractor, labour and sub-contractor timesheets and factoring into cost analysis

The Company:

The business is one of the most respected civil engineering contractors in the UK, they have specific expertise in highways. As such they are often the contractors used in emergency situations, as they can be relied on to get the job done in almost any situation, while working under time pressure, all the while completing the works to the highest standard.

The Remuneration:

The position is paying from £45,000 to £55,000 and comes with a 5% pension and a company car or allowance.

About You:

You will preferably be from a highways background, other civil engineering backgrounds will be considered, with relevant quantity surveying qualifications. Ideally with previous experience mentoring more junior professionals and an in-depth knowledge of NEC (or NR) contracts. You will have excellent stake holder management skills, with the ability to relate and communicate with people of all levels. To be successful in this position preferably you will have experience of both pre and post contract.
