Building Project Manager

£60,000 - £65,000 basic salary per annum
An internationally renowned main contractor has an incredible opportunity for a Project Manager to work on the ‘building’ package of a prestigious civils rail project.
Having already made their mark in several regions nationwide, the company are now expanding their workload into the West Midlands region, which will see employees have exceptional career paths laid out in front of them and guarantee further work following this project.
This position will be ideal for a Project Manager who has a technical background and a history with large commercial property projects. Rail experience is beneficial however, if you have a portfolio of prestigious construction projects you will be ideal.
Job duties:
Reporting into the Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for the ‘building’ package on the project which will include the station building, cladding, fit out, M&E and façade (all external and internal building activities). Day to day you will:
- Effectively manage the building works whilst overseeing a multitude of Sub Contractor (both intercompany and multi trades).
- You will work in partnership with other typically rail related interfaces such as Civils, Signalling, P-Way, and OLE, all of which will be taking place around the Station building.
- You will manage a small team of a Building Agent, Senior Engineer and Foreman who will directly oversee Site Activities and Engineering.
- You will liaise directly with the client and designers as part of the senior management team.
- You will inspect all site paperwork (Method Statements, Work Package Plans, and task briefs).
- You will work with the Engineering team to advise the Design Consultants and flag up buildability issues.
- You will be responsible for the budget of your package and report back on an overall project review with the commercial team.
Ideal Candidate:
- HND, HNC, or Degree in Building or Construction.
- You will come from a technical background.
- You will be an established Project Manager or Senior Site Manager who has worked on large projects.
- It is essential that you have experience in Cladding and Commercial construction.
- Some rail experience/knowledge is desirable.
Package:
£60,000 - £65,000 basic salary per annum
Company car or car allowance
47.5 hours working week
25 days holiday plus bank holidays
Full mentorship and support with chartership (MCIOB)
