My client is currently looking to speak to candidates to take on the opportunity as a plant/general fitter with mechanical and electrical experience on plant machinery such as generators, to work within a MOD setting with high levels of urgency and need for timely and good quality resolutions, this will be an exciting role for the right person with a globally operating business.

Your New Organisation

You will have a fantastic opportunity to work for a global player in provision of varying services from Military FM to support services for critical NHS service both at home and abroad. Your new organisation operates across the world including the Middle East, Europe, and Africa. This role will be based in the UK in Swindon working on critical MOD services.

Your New Opportunity

You will have the opportunity to join and work as a plant fitter specifically focussed on combat water supply systems, fuel systems and aviation refueller vehicles on an MOD site in Swindon. You will be a key member of the staffing team maintaining and overhauling key equipment for the MOD. The opportunity for the right person is a full-time permanent role, giving you an ideal opportunity to enhance your career and grow with the business in future growth.

Key duties include maintenance tasks such as:

  • Servicing key equipment such as CWSS, Joint operational fuel systems and aviation refueller vehicles
  • Carry out PPM
  • Fault finding and diagnostics
  • Power pack servicing
  • Periodic inspection and electrical testing

Person

You will have experience in planned and preventative maintenance in addition to fault find and diagnostics

You will be an experienced M&E engineer with experience of PPM and reactive maintenance.

You will have experience of adhering to H&S and environmental guidelines

You will be capable in both mechanical and qualified in electrical

You will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • Ideally will have a recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship or
  • NVQ level 3 with an electrical bias
  • Test and inspection 2391 qualified
  • Full driving licence - UK
  • Good communication skills
  • Good knowledge of H&S policy and protocol
  • Capable in paperwork and keeping good solid records
  • Ability to identify faults and repair
  • Carry out training and mentoring
