Company: This company is a forward thinking, leading edge supplier of civil engineering and rail services in the UK. This giant of the industry has an impressive portfolio of Rail, Road, Nuclear, and other major projects worldwide. They are a Principal Contractor and one of Network Rail’s top 20 suppliers enabling them to work on the most prestigious projects across the UK. Through their commitment to open and collaborative approaches to working, they have a secure workload developed through frameworks from Northumberland to North London and into East Midlands. To help them deliver these regionally significant projects, they are looking for an Intermediate Estimator who would like to advance their careers with a forward-thinking company.

Role Description: The company are looking for an Intermediate Estimator to join them in their regional offices in York to help manage several projects on a rail framework that will involve structures, bridges, replacement and strengthening schemes valued up to £20million. There is ample opportunity for remote working with this company which could see you working from the office 3 days per week and a further 2 from home (once you are up to speed with essential parts of the projects and systems). Your “realistic” hours are between 8am-4pm each day however there is flexibility if required on an ad hoc basis.

Required Experience: Someone with estimating experience working on rail, civil engineering or infrastructure projects valued up to £10million is ideal for this role. Experience with Candy estimating software is desirable but not essential. It’s worth noting that anyone with experience working on Panel Frameworks, Control Periods or other Network Rail Frameworks will be of high interest to my client. Most importantly, you need to be someone ambitious who is looking to progress, learn and be a hardworking member of the team!

Remuneration: On offer is a competitive salary of up to £60,000 (depending on experience), company car or car allowance, 28 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays, 42.5 hour working week, 8% pension contribution + additional benefits alongside an opportunity to work within an established rail business with ample opportunity to progress through the ranks.
