C£35,000 per annum – 18 Month FTC

About You

As an experienced HSQE Advisor within infrastructure or rail projects, you’ll have a background in implementing and executing H&S policies and ensuring procedures are effectively followed by all staff across the project. You’ll have effective communication skills to liaise with all staff concerning policies and Client Safety Representatives and Regulatory authorities on all Health and Safety issues. You’ll enjoy working as part of a team to monitor and report upon Health and Safety Performance in accordance with management reporting requirements, including the identification of areas of concern and opportunities for improvement and you will undertake Accident and Incident Reporting and Accident Investigation.

About the role

This is a fixed term contract for 18 months. As the HSQE Advisor, you’ll be the focal point concerning all health and safety related matters concerning this project. Providing professional and effective H&S advice and guidance to staff on the execution of contract works. You will be responsible for ensuring the implementation of agreed solutions to achieve compliance with Health and Safety Legislation. In this role you’ll also have the opportunity to work along side colleagues in the preparation of Project Health and Safety Plans and ensure compliance with their requirements, as well as provide detailed H&S input into all stages of the project process from initial pre-qualification to contract completion to ensure that projects are executed in a safe manner.

You will be required to carry out Site Safety Inspections and ensure that corrective actions arising from Site Safety Inspections are effectively addressed and closed out and that opportunities for the continuous improvement of safe working practices are fully exploited.

The Requirements

  • Relevant qualification in Health & Safety – Degree/Diploma/HNC/HND
  • Experience working in a rail project environment
  • Minimum of Tech / Grad Membership with IOSH
